9 November: Should Old Acquaintances

Yeah okay — I know the line is actually \’should auld acquaintance be forgot\’ but it doesn\’t fit here.

Old. That\’s the word I need.

Who makes the category \’old acquaintance\’?

It is those people who forget, either purposely or by accident of life\’s immortal and inexorable crawl forward, that others outside their immediate frame of reference continue to exist.

We all have them: the people you forget and who forget you, until it is convenient to remember.

Is the remembering contingent upon seeing them? Upon needing or wanting something from them?

It matters not.

The point is, we may feel put out at being forgotten but it is vital to remember that we too forget.
